POLYCENTRIC KNEE PROSTHESIS WITH CARBON FABRIC REINFORCED POLYMER: FABRICATION AND STRUCTURAL EVALUATION

A prosthetic knee is an important, functional, dynamic component of a transfemoral prosthesis. This paper details step-by-step fabrication procedure for passive polycentric using carbon-fabric-reinforced polymer in sequential order. The Solidworks® 2022 software package was used part modelling and assembling. three-dimensional model developed the base planning, visual ideation, feasibility assessment physical prototyping. parts composite were manufactured vacuum-assisted resin-infusion method. moulds infusion process designed by fused-deposition modelling. experimental static structural testing performed accordance with ISO 10328 standard to evaluate strength knee.
